Consultant: Audit & Assurance – Assurance

Job Summary: As a Consultant, the incumbent will be required to perform the core tasks associated with each of the above services and lead/ supervise diverse teams in their execution. The role also provides exposure to working with diverse teams and clients; support management and the leadership team with marketing and sourcing for new clients; scheduling jobs/ assignments and leading client planning meetings; allocation of tasks to team members; first level review of work papers; ensuring timely delivery of client reports and collections. It is also an opportunity to hone the individual’s leadership, analytical and business skills while working as part of the Assurance team, which is committed to helping clients build trust, resilience and security, shaping responsible businesses that can sustain and grow in an increasingly unpredictable environment. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Ensure that the fieldwork is conducted economically and per agreed client and Firm standards and also support Engagement Managers in delivery of services to/at client premises on delegated engagements.Research on innovation and trends related to the business, industry and economy and use acquired information to enhance service offerings.Manage own work against project plans to ensure a superior client experience.Maintain quality of output and timeous delivery as per engagement service contract.Raise ideas to address issues in area of expertise that may enhance / renew service offerings to client.Apply Deloitte’s risk frameworks, tools, and processes (e.g., Risk Intelligence Program Methodology, Risk Intelligence Map, Risk Intelligence Diagnostic) to effectively map and organize client’s data.Analyze client’s artifacts and data to accurately design current state business processes.Design business processes that include new and optimized metrics and controls.Assess and design internal controls, leverage appropriate frameworks and enable technologies/ tools.Enable effective control sets analysis by researching leading practices and benchmarking data.Support analysis and development of policies and procedures by researching relevant regulations.Perform data analysis leveraging appropriate techniques.Begin to develop a domain knowledge by conducting independent research, and attending workshops, seminars and training programs.Support Deloitte’s Assurance leaders in developing eminence.Coach and mentor junior members of the team.Assist in preparation of client presentations / discussion documentation.Build business relationships with clients/ staff.Contribute to the regional and business areas winning business strategy and targets, including contribution to Industry Manager initiatives and cross service line selling and collaboration.Support the identification of prospective business development opportunities.Contribute to the regional and business area winning business strategy and targets.Maintain own development and knowledge in specialized area.Comply with auditing and accounting standards, relevant laws and regulations (including specific local laws and regulations), ethical standards, independence requirements and the audit firm's quality control procedures.Perform any other duties as may be assigned to you from time to time. Qualifications, Skills and Experience: At least a second-class honor’s bachelor’s degree in related field;Postgraduate qualification and/or as a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (ACAMS), Certified Financial Crime Specialist (CFCS) or any other relevant certification is an advantage;Four (4) or more years of experience in external/ internal audit, Internal Controls review, risk management or related filed;Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point etc.) applications;Experience with a recognized professional services firm is an added advantage;Willingness to travel (within Uganda and across the East Africa region); andBe a Ugandan citizen or eligible to work in Uganda. Key Performance Areas Strategic Impact - Support the Partner on delivery of designated engagement / project and manage the implementation of the agreed deliverables.Budgets / Profitability - Manage engagement budget through accurate budgeting, cost control and profitability management.Risk Assessment and Mitigation - Ability to effectively perform the technical components of risk assessments to provide an accurate view of the client’s current risk state.Business Process Assessment and Design - Ability to perform end-to-end business process analyses and design.Internal Controls Assessment and Design - Ability to assess and design internal controls by applying an understanding of internal control design frameworks and regulatory requirements.Data Analytics and Technology - Ability to gather, synthesize, and analyze data using appropriate tools and technologies.
