About the Role: Construction Superintendent Jobs in Kalumbila

Reporting directly to the Project Manager – LEP, you will oversee the construction of the Manyama Employee Housing Development and Kamisengo RAP Housing Development. This includes managing all associated civil and municipal infrastructure works to ensure timely and quality delivery aligned with project goals.

Your key responsibilities will include

• Providing leadership in planning, coordinating, executing, monitoring, and closing out housing and infrastructure construction activities.
• Leading multidisciplinary civil infrastructure works such as bulk earthworks, roads, stormwater drainage, water and sewer reticulation, treatment plants, and utility services.
• Developing and maintaining integrated project execution strategies, schedules, resource plans, and milestone tracking systems.
• Overseeing contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers to ensure compliance with contractual, commercial, and technical requirements.
• Coordinating across engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, operations, and external stakeholders to resolve constraints and ensure seamless delivery.
• Driving construction quality through effective QA/QC processes, inspections, material compliance, defect management, and successful commissioning.
• Proactively managing project risks related to safety, quality, cost, schedule, logistics, environmental compliance, and stakeholder engagement.
• Leading governance activities including project scoping, constructability reviews, budget development, change management, and reporting.
• Establishing construction management systems to monitor progress, productivity, cost performance, and schedule adherence with corrective actions as needed.
• Building and maintaining productive relationships with local authorities, regulatory agencies, community representatives, and stakeholders.
• Reviewing engineering deliverable drawings for completeness, coordination, constructability, code compliance, and suitability for construction.

Candidate Requirements for Construction Superintendent Jobs in Kalumbila

To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria

• Full Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline from a recognised institution.
• At least eight (8) years of progressive experience in construction supervision and management, including leadership of housing and large-scale civil infrastructure projects.
• Registered Member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ).
• Proven experience in construction and commissioning of water treatment plants, sewer treatment plants, and municipal water and sewer reticulation systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MS Office Suite, MS Project, Primavera, or other project management software.
• Strong leadership, decision-making, negotiation, communication, stakeholder engagement, and team management skills.
• Comprehensive knowledge of occupational health, safety, environmental, and quality management systems, as well as applicable Zambian legislation and construction standards.
• Valid Manual Driver’s License.
