This is a strategic country-level role for a purpose-driven communicator who can steward AGRA’s brand in-country, turn evidence, partnerships and programme results into compelling stories, campaigns, advocacy platforms and engagement opportunities, and strengthen AGRA’s influence, reputation and contribution to food systems transformation. Working with country, regional and program teams, the Officer will support communications, stakeholder engagement, leadership visibility and reputation management in ways that connect AGRA’s work to the lives, choices and aspirations of Africa’s farming families.

### Key Duties and Responsibilities

Steward AGRA’s brand in-country by ensuring the organization is clearly understood, consistently positioned and represented with integrity across messaging, visual identity, communications governance, brand standards and stakeholder engagement.

Develop and implement country communications and advocacy plans that support programme priorities, stakeholder engagement, leadership visibility and food systems transformation objectives.

Translate programme evidence, partner achievements, proven catalytic models, lessons learned and impact data into compelling stories, briefs, reports, digital content, multimedia products and knowledge materials that influence decision-makers, attract scaling audiences and strengthen AGRA’s contribution to food systems transformation.

Coordinate integrated campaigns, events, policy dialogues, strategic convenings and visibility opportunities that translate policy priorities, public-good outcomes and behavior-change objectives into clear communications and advocacy that strengthen AGRA’s influence, reputation and public engagement.

Build and maintain productive relationships with government, media, donors, partners, private sector actors, civil society and other stakeholders to advance AGRA’s communications and advocacy goals.

Support executive communications, leadership visibility and strategic engagement opportunities for Country Directors, Regional Directors and AGRA leadership.

Participate in AGRA Newsroom, planning and content coordination processes to ensure country priorities and impact stories are reflected in institutional communications.

Monitor emerging communications, reputational and policy risks and support timely mitigation actions.

Support planning, budgeting, reporting and performance tracking for communications and advocacy activities.

### Key Qualifications and Experience Required

Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications, International Relations, Development Communications, Marketing or a related field; a master’s degree or relevant professional certification is an added advantage.

Minimum of five years’ relevant experience in communications, advocacy, public affairs, external relations or stakeholder engagement.

Demonstrated ability to translate technical, programme and impact evidence into compelling, audience-specific stories, campaigns, briefs and digital content.

Experience working with governments, development partners, private sector actors, media, civil society and multicultural teams.
