VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT@ ILLOVO SUGAR (MALAWI) PLC POSITION: CLINICIAN (2 POSITIONS)Location: DwangwaABOUT THE ROLEIllovo Sugar (Malawi) plc, the country's leading producer of raw, refined and specialty sugars, employing more than 9,000 employees, is hiring 2 Clinicians under the Medical Services Organisational Unit. Reporting to the Medical Officer, the successful candidates will provide primary health care services and manage the satellite clinic.KEY REQUIREMENTS- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Clinical Medicine or Clinical Science- 2–3 years of working experience in a similar environment- Registered with the relevant medical professional body- Basic computer literacy and the ability to maintain accurate electronic and manual medical records- Valid driver's license- Certification in Basic Life Support or Advanced Life Support is advantageous- Demonstrate understanding of the payment systems that provide coverage for patient careKEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Provide primary health care services within the scope of professional standards, including physical assessment, screening, triage, health education/counselling, history taking, managing laboratory and X-ray requisitions, prescription of treatment, referral and follow-up, and other clinical activities according to the hospital or clinic's standards of clinical practice- Perform basic surgical procedures in obstetrics and gynaecology and surgery, including performing surgery independently and managing common obstetric and gynaecological and appropriate surgical emergencies (suturing, incision and drainages, local anaesthesia, assisted breech deliveries, C-sections, applying plaster of Paris, etc.)- Coordinate the management of the satellite clinic, where applicable, ensuring the clinic is fully equipped, adequately supplied, meets infection control standards and that medicines and controlled drugs are monitored and accounted for- Practice cost-effective health care and resource allocation without compromising quality of care- Provide Medical Emergency Response and preparedness program oversight by liaising with internal and external stakeholders- Prescribe drugs and observe patients in the wards- Participate in, and share responsibility for, the on-call emergency medical coverage at the hospital or clinic- Promote and adhere to Illovo's procedures, policies and guidelines, including, without limitation, those relating to SHERQ, Competitive Law and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC)HOW TO APPLYPlease send your application letter together with a detailed CV, copies of relevant certificates, traceable referees and National ID to:The HR Mill HeadIllovo Sugar (Malawi) plcP.O Box 46DwangwaEmail: DwangwaCorporateMail@illovo.co.zaClosing date for receiving application letters is 9th October 2026.
