About the Client
Our client is a multidisciplinary general contractor servicing diverse industries. They possess full-spectrum construction capabilities across transport and road networks, water and wastewater management systems, and commercial building infrastructure.
Purpose of the Role
The Financial controller position ensures absolute accuracy of all accounting activities and ledgers that reflects income coming in and out of the company. Also ensures that the company is compliant in all aspects of its financial operations and assist the Finance manager with financial statements and reports
Job Responsibilities
- Journal entries
- Trial balance/General ledger management and reconciliation
- Re-evaluation of debtors
- Creditors reconciliation
- Oversee bank reconciliation
- Month end journals and assist the Finance manager with monthly cost report
- Cost control
- Ensure adherence to all accounting standards and policies
- Compare budget to actual reporting
- Monthly stock audit
- Develop KPIs report
- Staff training were need be.
- Monitor and report on accounting discrepancies
- Assist the Finance manager in bi-annual budget preparation.
- Prepare audit files, assist with audit finalization
- Analyse financial trends and identify initiatives that could benefit the organization
- Ensure compliance with accounting and finance standards, best practices and government regulations.

Person Specifications
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum: Degree in Financial Accounting
- At least ten (10) years professional experience.
- Must be a member of ACCA or ZICA
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be a strategic thinker
- Must possess leadership and team management skills
- Ability to adapt easily to industry change
- Must be detail oriented
- Must possess high level of confidentiality
- Must be proficient in IT
