Barrick Lumwana Mining Corporation invites qualified professionals to apply for a full-time position as a Civil Engineer – Housing Construction based in Kalumbila, North West Province, Zambia. About the Role and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Construction Superintendent – Housing, you will oversee the construction of the Manyama Employee Housing Development and the Kamisengo RAP Housing Development. This includes managing all associated civil and municipal infrastructure to ensure projects meet design specifications, safety standards, and regulatory compliance.

• Supervise and coordinate onsite construction activities, including earthworks, concrete, roads, drainage, kerbs, paving, and structural elements.
• Prepare detailed scopes of work and bills of quantities following civil engineering standards and measurement methods.
• Schedule and manage contractors to optimize workforce and equipment utilization for efficient project delivery.
• Monitor project progress against baseline schedules and budgets, ensuring timely completion of milestones and deliverables.
• Oversee procurement, delivery, and inventory of construction materials, evaluating suppliers for quality and cost-effectiveness.
• Conduct regular site inspections and enforce quality control procedures to promptly address defects or deficiencies.
• Maintain accurate daily site reports, updated drawing registers, inspection plans, and quality documentation.
• Support quantity verification for interim payment applications and review contractor logs and records.

Qualifications and Experience Required

• Completion of Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline from a recognized institution.
• Registered Member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ) with a valid Practising Licence as a Professional Engineer.
• Minimum of four years’ experience in construction within the mining industry, specifically in housing, water and sewer treatment, infrastructure, and roads.
• Proven proficiency with construction management software and strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MS Office Suite, MS Project, Primavera, or similar project management tools.
• Possession of a valid Manual Driver’s License.
