About the Role

Atlancis Technologies is seeking a Ceph Storage Engineer to manage and optimize the storage backbone of our multi-region OpenStack cloud, with a focus on integration, performance, reliability, troubleshooting, and automation.

### Key Responsibilities

- Design, deploy, operate, and maintain production Ceph clusters.

- Integrate Ceph with OpenStack Cinder, Glance, Nova, Keystone, and RGW.

- Manage RBD, RGW, and CephFS environments.

- Configure and optimize CRUSH rules, pools, PGs, replication, and erasure coding.

- Troubleshoot OSD failures, degraded clusters, slow requests, recovery, and backfill issues.

- Manage upgrades, cluster expansion, hardware replacement, and rebalancing.

- Monitor and optimize storage performance, capacity, and availability.

- Automate deployment and operations using Ansible, Python, Bash, or IaC.

- Maintain monitoring and observability using tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.

REQUIREMENTS

- 3+ years of hands-on production Ceph experience.

- Strong knowledge of RADOS, RBD, RGW, CephFS, BlueStore, CRUSH, PGs, and Erasure Coding.

- Proven experience integrating and troubleshooting Ceph with OpenStack.

- Strong Linux administration skills.

- Good understanding of NVMe, SSD, HDD, storage controllers, and storage networking.

- Experience with Python, Bash, Ansible, or Infrastructure-as-Code.

- Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, or similar monitoring tools.

Added advantage: Experience with Ceph performance benchmarking, all-flash/mixed-media clusters, AWS/GCP storage services, or relevant Ceph/OpenStack certifications.
