OVERVIEWDon Bosco Youth Technical Institute is a Catholic Institution that is run by the Salesians Community of the catholic church and aims at providing quality Technical Vocational Education and Training (TEVET) for the marginalized youths in Malawi. It is situated in Area 23, Tsabango, Lilongwe.The institute wishes to recruit a Carpenter. The Carpenter will be responsible for designing, fabricating, assembling, and finishing high-quality furniture and joinery products. The role requires advanced technical skills, precision craftsmanship, and the ability to work in large-scale production environments.Application Deadline: Wednesday, 7th October 2026POSITION: CARPENTERJOB TYPE: Full TimeKEY REQUIREMENTSRequirements:Advanced Malawi Craft Certificate in Carpentry & Joinery.Minimum 3 years' experience in large-scale furniture production industries.Strong knowledge of modern woodworking machinery and industrial production processes.Ability to work with hardwoods, softwoods, laminates, and composite materials.Proven track record in delivering custom and mass-production furniture.Those with Diploma in related field will have an added advantage.Core Competencies:Precision craftsmanship and attention to detail.Strong problem-solving and technical skills.Ability to manage production timelines under pressure.Excellent teamwork and leadership abilities.Commitment to safety and quality standards.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – FURNITURE PRODUCTIONProduce and assemble quality furniture using modern carpentry and joinery.Ensure safety and efficiency while operating tools and machinery.Read and understand specifications, technical drawings, and designs.Carry out quality checks on completed items and apply finishing touches as required.Collaborate with production teams to follow targets and deadlines.Train and mentor junior carpenters and apprentices.Keep machinery and tools in good condition and adhere to the health and safety regulations of the workshop.HOW TO APPLYQualified candidates should submit their applications and updated CVs plus copies of certificates by 7th October 2026 to:Email: hadmin@dbc-malawi.orgOr by hand to the following address:The PrincipalDon Bosco Youth Technical InstituteArea 23, TsabangoP.O.
