## Job Description

Bulyanhulu Gold Mine is seeking to recruit a Capital Controller to join and grow our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective financial control, monitoring, reporting and administration of capital expenditure, ensuring that capital projects and investments are accurately recorded and managed in accordance with company policies, financial controls and applicable accounting standards. Join our exceptional team and embody Barrick's core values as you work with us. Responsibilities: Manage and monitor the organisation's capital expenditure (CAPEX) portfolio. Prepare and maintain capital expenditure budgets, forecasts and variance analysis. Review and control capital project expenditure against approved budgets and business cases. Ensure accurate accounting and reporting of capital projects and fixed assets. Monitor project commitments, purchase orders, invoices and accruals. Perform monthly capital expenditure reconciliations and reporting. Assist with capitalisation of assets and ensure assets are correctly classified and recorded. Monitor project spend from initiation through to completion and handover. Provide financial analysis and reporting to management on capital projects and expenditure. Ensure compliance with internal controls, financial policies and relevant accounting standards. Support internal and external audits relating to capital expenditure and fixed assets. Work closely with project managers, procurement, engineering, operations and finance teams. Identify financial risks, control weaknesses and opportunities to improve CAPEX processes. Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting processes. Maintain accurate supporting documentation and audit trails for capital expenditure. Qualification Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field. Professional accounting qualification such as CPA(T), CIMA, ACCA or equivalent will be advantageous. Relevant training or certification in capital/project accounting or financial management will be an added advantage. Experience and Skills Requirements: 3–5+ years' relevant experience in financial control, management accounting, capital accounting or a similar role. Previous experience in the mining, minerals, metals, engineering or heavy-industrial sector is strongly preferred. Proven experience managing and controlling CAPEX budgets and capital projects. Experience with fixed asset accounting, capitalisation and asset registers. Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting and financial variance analysis. Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics or similar. Experience preparing management reports and financial analysis. Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams in a project-driven environment. Experience dealing with auditors and maintaining strong financial controls.
