The Role
The Business Development Officer will be responsible for driving membership growth, mobilizing deposits and promoting SACCO’s products and services to attract and retain members.
Responsibilities and Duties
Develop strategies for growth in line with the overall UWS strategies and set targets.
Facilitate member uptake of savings and credit products by developing and executing targeted mobilization strategies.
Build and maintain strong relationships with members to drive retention and referrals.
Conduct regular visits and maintain consistent communication particularly following onboarding and after loan disbursement.
Conduct market research to identify emerging trends and member needs, and present actionable recommendations to the management.
Design member education programs in collaboration with the management and relevant Board committees to enhance member engagement.
Support product development initiatives by relaying member feedback and market insights.
Follow up on dormant accounts to drive reactivation
Recruit new members through corporate partnerships and targeted outreach through existing members.
Handle member inquiries, complaints, and feedback promptly and professionally.
Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales or any other related field.
Diploma in Sales & Marketing will be an added advantage.
Professional certification in Sales/Marketing is an added advantage.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in business development, sales or marketing preferably in a financial institution,
Skills and Competencies
Knowledge of marketing principles, brand, product and service management.
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
Sales and negotiation skills with a target-driven mindset.
Proficiency in MS Office and core banking management systems.
High level of integrity and professionalism.
