## Job Description

Helderberg Village, in Somerset West, is seeking an experienced Building Compliance Officer to join our estate management team.
This hands-on technical role is suited to a building inspector, building compliance officer or built-environment professional with strong residential construction and inspection experience.

Key responsibilities:
Review building and alteration applications and plans.Inspect works against approved plans and Village requirements.Identify unauthorised work and non-compliance.Administer contractor registration and building-site requirements.Maintain accurate building and alteration records.Conduct compliance inspections for properties being marketed for sale.Liaise with residents, contractors and built-environment professionals.Minimum requirements:
Relevant three-year built-environment qualification, preferably NQF 6 or higher:Minimum 5 years' relevant practical experience.Sound knowledge of the national building regulations and SANS 10400.Strong plan-reading, inspection, report-writing and administrative skills.Valid Code B driver's licence.Advantageous: SACPCMP building inspector registration, municipal or residential-estate experience, City of Cape Town/DAMS knowledge and sectional-title experience.We are looking for someone with strong technical judgement, practical common sense and the confidence to deal respectfully but firmly with residents, contractors and professionals.
