Zanaco Bank Plc is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the following job aimed at contributing to the Bank’s strategic vision, in the Commercial Division under the Commercial Division at Head Office – Commercial Retail:

Role Description

JOB PURPOSE

To acquire, manage, grow and retain a profitable portfolio of corporate and SME insurance clients by identifying new business opportunities, assessing client risks, developing tailored insurance solutions, negotiating competitive terms with insurers, coordinating policy placement and renewals, and delivering responsive advisory and servicing support in line with Zanaco Insurance Brokers’ sales strategy, regulatory requirements, service standards and business objectives.

Requirements

Under the supervision of the , the following are among the key responsibilities

Identify, pursue and convert new business opportunities within the corporate and SME segments through client visits, referrals, campaigns, branch networks and relationship-management channels.

Conduct client needs and risk assessments and recommend appropriate insurance solutions.

· Prepare and present quotations, insurance programmes, proposals, presentations and tender submissions.

· Achieve agreed premium income, commission revenue, customer acquisition, retention, cross-selling and profitability targets.

· Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, insurers, underwriters and internal stakeholders.

· Coordinate policy placement, renewals, endorsements, cancellations and related documentation, ensuring renewals are initiated before expiry.

· Negotiate competitive pricing, coverage and service terms with insurers and underwriters.

· Guide clients on claims notification requirements and liaise with relevant stakeholders to support timely claims processing and escalation.

· Support premium collection, debt management and credit-control processes by following up outstanding premiums.

· Maintain accurate client, policy, claims and sales records and prepare regular portfolio-performance reports.

· Ensure all activities comply with applicable insurance regulations, internal policies, KYC, AML, data-protection and documentation requirements.

· Uphold the highest standards of ethics, integrity and professional conduct, including declaring conflicts of interest, safeguarding confidential information and reporting suspected misconduct through approved channels.

· Perform any other responsibilities or tasks assigned by management.

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL CONTACTS

· Corporate, SME and institutional clients.

· Insurers, underwriters, loss adjusters, assessors, service providers, regulators and industry stakeholders.

· Zanaco Insurance Brokers leadership, sales, claims, operations, policy administration, finance, credit control, compliance and risk teams.

· Zanaco Bank branches and relationship teams.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

· Grade 12 Certificate with at least five credits, including Mathematics and English.

· Degree in Insurance, Business Administration, Banking and Finance, Marketing, Risk Management or a related field.

· A Certificate in Insurance and membership of a recognised insurance professional body will be added advantages.

· At least five years’ experience in corporate or SME insurance sales, insurance broking, business development, account management, underwriting or client servicing within the insurance or financial-services sector.

· Sound knowledge of general insurance products, business-lines insurance, corporate and SME insurance, policy placement, renewals, endorsements and claims procedures.

· Demonstrated ability to assess business risks, structure insurance solutions, negotiate with insurers and prepare proposals, quotations and reports.

· Good understanding of premium collection, debt management and credit-control processes.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and relevant business systems.
