BI Developer (Junior to Mid-Level) – Cape Town – up to R480k per annum

Job description
We are looking for a motivated and analytical BI Developer who is eager to grow their skills, take on new challenges and develop into a well-rounded Business Intelligence professional.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Junior to Mid-Level BI Developer to gain exposure across the full BI lifecycle, from understanding business requirements and analysing data to data modelling, ETL processes, system integration and report development.
Key Responsibilities
- Extract, analyse and transform data from various business systems and third-party data sources.
- Consolidate data into meaningful and reliable BI models.
- Perform data cleaning, preparation and transformation.
- Develop and maintain SQL queries to extract and manipulate data.
- Assist with data modelling and ETL processes.
- Gain an understanding of business operations and translate business needs into effective data solutions.
- Perform data integrity checks and investigate discrepancies.
- Develop and maintain reports, including complex financial reports.
- Prepare and deliver monthly management reports.
- Design, develop and maintain dashboards to provide meaningful business insights.
- Respond to day-to-day ad hoc reporting and data queries.
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, data quality and efficiency.
Minimum Requirements
- BCom, BSc or equivalent qualification in a relevant field.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a BI Developer, Data Analyst or similar role.
- Good working knowledge of SQL.
- Experience in developing reports and dashboards.
- Understanding of data analysis, data preparation and data modelling.
- Strong numerical and analytical abilities.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and the ability to engage with business stakeholders.
