Position Overview: Assistant Officer Insurance Jobs in Lusaka
The Assistant Officer will be responsible for ensuring the accurate, timely, and compliant management of insurance processes. Key duties include processing insurance claims and refunds, verifying supporting documentation, responding to stakeholder queries, maintaining detailed records, preparing reports, and ensuring adherence to internal policies and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect insurance supporting documentation promptly and efficiently.
- Prepare and dispatch correspondence to employers, following up on potential insurance claim events.
- Strengthen relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Accurately capture Funeral Insurance policies, ensuring documentation completeness and initiating corrective actions where necessary.
- Process Credit Life and Funeral insurance claims in a timely manner.
- Maintain comprehensive support documentation for claims and insurance files.
- Compute and prepare insurance refunds correctly, providing timely information to clients.
- Manage insurance queries from branches and other departments, escalating and resolving issues promptly.
- Ensure correct assignment of insurance codes to all claimable Credit Life events before and after claim processing.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reports as required.
- Review call center reports to identify claimable and non-claimable events.
- Perform other duties lawfully assigned by management.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Full Grade 12 School Certificate.
- Degree in Insurance, Business Administration, Economics, or related business fields.
- National Certificate in Insurance (NCI) required for candidates without an Insurance degree.
- At least three (3) years of experience in Insurance Administration or the Financial Services sector.
- Affiliate membership of the Insurance Institute of Zambia (IIZA) is an advantage.
