Responsible for teaching and assessing students, preparing course materials, conducting research, supervising student projects, supporting curriculum development, and participating in academic programmes and university activities. Requires a relevant Master’s degree, with a PhD an added advantage depending on the discipline, and relevant university teaching experience where specified. The position is based in Busia and requires on-site work.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in Nursing/Midwifery from recognized and accredited universities.
- Registered or registerable for a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Nursing or a related discipline in a recognized university.
- Valid Annual Practicing License issued by the Nursing Council of Kenya.
- Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications.
- Evidence of potential for university teaching, research, and scholarly publication.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate courses in Nursing.
- Prepare teaching and learning materials.
- Set, invigilate, and mark examinations and assignments.
- Conduct research under the guidance of senior academic staff.
- Supervise undergraduate projects and experiential learning.
- Prepare student progress reports.
- Publish scholarly papers and contribute to academic books and other scholarly outputs.
- Participate in departmental activities and community engagement.
