## Job Description

POSITION TITLE: ASSISTANT DRIVER TRAINER POSITION SUMMARYResponsible for assisting the Driver Trainer with driver induction, practical coaching, refresher training, route observations, pre-start inspection coaching, training records and follow-up of driver behavior.

### Duties and Responsibilities

### DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Assist with driver induction, refresher training, practical demonstrations, coaching sessions, road observations and daily training activities.
- Assist drivers with correct pre-start inspection methods, defect identification, warning light checks, fluid checks and defect reporting.
- Observe drivers on mine roads, public roads, parking areas, loading areas, offloading areas and other approved routes as instructed
- Assist the Driver Trainer with practical assessments, checklists, observation notes, attendance registers and assessment preparation.
- Prepare, update and submit attendance registers, training forms, route observation sheets, coaching notes and other approved training records.
- Support refresher and corrective training after incidents, near misses, poor vehicle care, speeding, failed assessments or repeated driver complaints.

### Qualifications

and Experience QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE and

### SKILLS

- 5 O' Levels including Mathematics and English will be an advantage.
- Valid driver license, defensive driving, basic instructor or equivalent training exposure will be an advantage.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years practical experience in truck, bus, LDV, mining transport or industrial driving operations is preferred.
- Previous experience as a senior driver, assistant trainer, route observer or transport assistant will be an advantage.
- Basic understanding of trucks, buses, trailers, brakes, tyres, lights, couplings and obvious vehicle defects.
- Good communication, observation, reporting and record keeping ability.
- Ability to work under instruction and maintain professional discipline with drivers and trainees.
- Good attention to detail and willingness to accept correction and guidance.
