Assistant Accountant

Job description

• Assisting with the preparation of financial statements and reports.
• Assisting in filing of VAT, withholding tax, PAYE and other applicable statutory requirements.
• Capture and verify the accuracy of financial transactions.
• Processing supplier invoices, payments and supplier account reconciliations.
• Performing bank reconciliations and other reconciling tasks.
• Assisting with budgeting as needed.
• General ledger accounting, reconciliations, payables, receivables and month-end processes.
• Ensuring payment amounts and records are correct.
• Working with spreadsheets, sales and purchase ledgers and journals.
• Recording and filing of cash transactions.
• Controlling credit and timely debt collection.
• Processing expense requests.

• Ability to work as part of a team and take direction accurately.
• Analytical thinker and problem solver.
• Competent IT skills, particularly proficiency with spreadsheet software.
• High level of accuracy.
• Extremely organised in a manner that is easily read by others.
• Trustworthy and discreet when dealing with confidential information.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, with at least 3 Years of related work experience
• Proficient in  Accounting package ,Microsoft dynamics will have added advantage
• Excellent organizing and multitasking ability
• Outstanding Communication skills
