VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT@ ETG CLIMATE SOLUTIONS POSITION: AGROFORESTRY FIELD EXTENSION OFFICER Location: Mchinji, Ntchisi, Kasungu, Salima & BACKGROUND ETG Climate Solutions is a new business unit within ETG Commodities vertical with a current staff complement of 70 people across Switzerland, Spain, Zambia, Malawi, South Africa and Kenya. ETG Climate solutions is building upon the Group’s large implementation experience of various farmer related initiatives across Sub-Saharan Africa, to deliver climate and livelihood benefits at scale to farmers using modern tools and carbon market access. Climate Solutions has developed a bespoke program for African Emerging Farmer Carbon Abatement Program (AEF CAP) which has already been launched in Zambia, Malawi and Kenya.Job PurposeETG Climate Solutions is looking for dedicated Field Officers to support the implementation of various field activities for an agroforestry project, including a cookstove component.Field Officers will be responsible for facilitating all field operations for participant farmer groups to ensure successful implementation of project strategies and translating community needs into project objectives.Location: The positions will be based within the project districts ( Mchinji, Ntchisi, Kasungu, Salima & Dowa).Duties and ResponsibilitiesCore duties include, but are not limited to:Implement field activities according to the project guidelines and workplanIdentify appropriate farmer participantsOrganize and support the logistics of farmer groupsFacilitate trainings for farmer groups from locally appropriate training materialsProvide consistent technical support of farmer participantsConduct all data collection and monitoring of farmers and farmer groupsProvide interim reports on various field activitiesAssist in processing administrative requests/documentsAssist in procurement of all items for the program and tree nurseryAssist in producing quality deliverables on timeAssist in the procurement of all items for the agroforestry program and tree nurseries Qualifications and RequirementsA certificate (diploma preferred) in agroforestry, agriculture, natural resources management or related field.A minimum of 2 years’ proven experience as a Field Extensionist or similar roleExperience in field data collectionStrong understanding of agroforestry and sustainable farming practices in Malawi.Ability to facilitate and train farmers and farmer groups.Ability to work with diverse groups of people, including local communities, government agencies and international project team.Experience working closely with local government offices and village leadership in rural development programs/ projects in MalawiStrong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities in a time sensitive manner ➢ Skilled in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc. ➢ Fluent in English (both speaking and writing)In possession of a valid Motorcycle license is a MUSTFlexible in terms of traveling, living conditions and working hours ➢ Must be a citizen of MalawiRequired AttributesFocused, disciplined and determinedSelf-motivatedStrong leadership skills with teamsStructured and analytic mindsetInnovative and collaborativePatient and flexible, particularly in cross-cultural environmentsWillingness to live and work in difficult conditionsWork well under tight deadlinesGood interpersonal skillsCommitment to the mission and vision of ETG Climate Solutions How to apply?Interested candidates should submit their applications, including cover letter and CV, by close of business on 28th July 2026 to the following email address: operations02.mlw@etgworld.com
