Summary

BIA is seeking motivated engineering graduates to join its structured two-year Engineer Trainee Programme. The programme provides practical exposure to engineering operations, equipment maintenance, project management, safety, and technical service within the mining and heavy-equipment environment.

Detailed Role Profile

Programme Duration: 2 years

The programme develops foundational engineering, maintenance, and project skills while strengthening technical knowledge, organization, leadership potential, safety awareness, and professional conduct.

1. Education

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics and/or another related engineering or technical field.
  • Relevant coursework or certifications in project management, maintenance systems, reliability engineering, or operations management are an advantage.

2. Experience

  • Graduate-level candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • Relevant internships, academic projects, industrial attachments, or practical technical experience are an advantage.
  • Exposure to mining, automotive, heavy-equipment, maintenance, engineering, or project environments is beneficial.

3. Core Competencies

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good organization, planning, time management, and attention to detail.
  • Initiative, adaptability, teamwork, and a willingness to learn.
  • Leadership potential and the ability to work responsibly in a professional environment.

4. Technical and Project Proficiency

  • Basic understanding of engineering, automotive engineering, mining activities, equipment, tools, and safety protocols.
  • Understanding of maintenance principles, including preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and techniques, such as MS Project, Trello, Asana, Jira, Waterfall, Agile, or Scrum.
  • Exposure to computerized maintenance management systems or similar tools is beneficial.
  • Ability to diagnose basic technical issues, propose logical solutions, and accurately document procedures, reports, and logs.

5. Safety and Professional Conduct

  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to health, safety, quality, and environmental requirements.
  • Follows procedures, uses equipment responsibly, and promotes safe working practices.
  • Displays integrity, accountability, professionalism, and respect for colleagues and customers.
